How It Works
Creating Your Memorial Jewellery
At Michael James Jewellery, we understand that memorial jewellery is far more than a piece of jewellery. It is a way to keep a loved one close and create a lasting tribute to a life that will always be remembered.
Every piece is handcrafted in our workshop using real kiln-fired glass, not resin, ensuring a beautiful and lasting memorial.

Step 2 – Place Your Order
Once you've selected your jewellery, simply place request a pack online or contact us directly to discuss a bespoke design.
We will then provide clear instructions on how to send your ashes safely.
Step 3 – Send the Ashes
Only a small amount of ashes is required, usually less than half a teaspoon.
We recommend sending ashes using a tracked postal service for peace of mind.
Every package received is handled with the utmost care, respect, and dignity.
Step 4 – Handcrafting Your Jewellery
Once your ashes arrive, we begin creating your memorial piece.
Unlike many memorial jewellery companies, we use specialist kiln-fired glass rather than resin.
The ashes are carefully encapsulated between layers of glass and fused in a kiln at high temperatures, creating a permanent and beautiful memorial.
Each piece is individually handcrafted, making every item completely unique.
Step 5 – Quality Inspection
Before your jewellery leaves our workshop, it undergoes a thorough quality inspection.
We ensure:
-
The glass is beautifully finished
-
The setting is secure
-
Any engraving is completed correctly
-
The jewellery meets our high standards
Step 6 – Delivery
Your completed jewellery is carefully packaged and sent using a secure tracked delivery service.
Any unused ashes are respectfully returned with your order.
Why We Use Glass, Not Resin
Many memorial jewellery products use resin to hold ashes.
We believe glass offers a superior finish because it:
✓ Creates a beautiful depth and sparkle
✓ Will not yellow over time
✓ Is highly durable
✓ Produces a unique memorial effect
✓ Creates a premium jewellery-quality finish
Our kiln-fired glass process ensures every piece is a lasting tribute designed to be treasured for generations.
